In this essay, I want to analyze the language features of the article- Influence of manufacturing process on the contents of iron, copper, chromium, nickel and manganese elements in Crush, Tear and Curl black tea, their transfer rates and health risk assessment- using Swales and Feak’s (2012) Language Analysis Features from Academic Writing for Graduate Students. In the article, Zhang et al. (2018) claim "It is expected that our study would provide helpful information for the establishment of tolerance limit to address the tea quality and safety control" (p. 242). The main point of this sentence is to emphasize "our study" not the first-person pronoun " I" or " we" in order to intrigue readers' attention on the research (Swales and Feak, 2012). …show more content…
In this sentence, the authors use "no" to replace "not" that is more academic (Swales and Feak, 2012). Furthermore, the authors then state that " Moreover, the investigation of their transfer rates and health risk assessment of drinking CTC black tea were limited" (Zhang, et al., 2018).
