Ayn Rand uses a lot of different styled words, as she tries to expands the reader’s vocabulary. She uses words such as transgression a ton throughout the novel, which is basically a synonym to the word broken law or rule. You see Rand use it in the sense that it's a dreadful thing, as she says, “And we know well that there is no transgression blacker than to do or think alone”. (Rand,17) I also think another vocabulary word important to the plot is impotent, as it a word to describe somebody that is not useful to the society. She also uses it to somewhat mock the other characters, as she says, “What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and the impotent, are my masters”?
