The limitations of calculating π included the tools given for calculation. A paper tape measure consisted on units of centimeters and approximation to the nearest tenth could have limited the exercise. The best method was picking the closest centimeter measurement visibly possible for the diameter and circumference by wrapping the paper tape measure around the circles. The worst method would be using a ruler or meter stick. The only improvements that could be made is the use of smaller units to minimize uncertainty.

Report Question: Wood
The uncertainty of the volume of the wood was 2.40*10-4%. The uncertainty of the mass of the wood was 3.11*10-6%. The uncertainty of the density measurement is .77 ± 1.87*10-4. According to my wood's density,

As the length of the pendulum decreases, the time elapsed to reach a full oscillation decreases. The relationship follows the functional relationship of a linear function, as "X" (length of pendulum) decreases, "Y" (Time elapsed for oscillation) decreases.

Report Question: Bio-metrology

According to Table 5, there was no correlation between the circumference of a person's head and their heart rate. One reason for this outcome is because the circulatory system is not dependent on size of a person's head. However, there was a correlation between the wrist and neck circumference. There was a positive correlation between wrist and neck circumference. The pattern between the neck and wrist circumference conveyed that the larger the wrist, the larger the neck.

CONCLUSION:

Section 10 concluded the lab with the expected results for each exercise. With the tools given, uncertainty played a role in obtaining a range of values for each measurement, but did not significantly impact the relative values. For example, when estimating for pi, each of the values estimated were relatively close to 3.14159. The sources of error were mainly from the google maps website when drawing a circle with uneven pinpoints. With the uncertainty of proper spacing on the map, the computer software might have overestimated or underestimated the exact values. In conclusion, each exercise has served its purpose

For this week, I was required to read chapter 2 in the "Think Python" textbook. This week's reading was a little more complicated and advanced than the first chapter. This chapter was not about writing phrases, but more about using variables to answer equations, and how to plug them into Python. The Written Assignment that was assigned, was based on what I learned in chapter 2. I was able to use the Pythagorean theorem to answer the question, by declaring the variable of each side, and plugging it in the formula to find the answer.…

Introduction Some people believe that we have only one type of muscle in our bodies that help us with all different types of tasks, however; not only do our bodies have different muscle types, they also contain different muscle fibers that are used for different activities. Skeletal muscle contain three types of muscle fibers: slow twitch, fast twitch oxidative, and fast twitch glycolytic. Most muscles in our bodies have different combinations of these muscle fibers, although our body recruits different muscle fibers for different activities. The first muscle fiber to be recruited are slow twitch fibers, are also known as Type I. “Slow twitch muscle fibers are the smallest in diameter, contain the least amount of actin and myosin, and allow…

The experiment concludes that centripetal force will decrease as the radius increases. The graphs for minimum and maximum lines had uncertainty percentages lower than 3%, it was 2.49% which means it’s small but not too small. With this being known, I have found that my experiment has low random error. This means that the experiment was highly accurate and the data could be reproducible.…

The final two measurements are quite similar in scatter and could have easily been a systematic error when determining the end point of the procedure, however the first measurement is so far removed from the others that there was clearly a random error. This clear random error has therefore, corrupted the precision of the…

Introduction Variables exist in experiments and can be linked together in the form of an equation. Some equations have constants that link the variables together in a sort of relationship. Gravity is considered a constant in many formulae including equations of kinematics and projectiles. In this experiment, the simple pendulum apparatus can be used investigate the relationship between the time period and the length of the pendulum, with a constant value including the value of gravity.…

Abstract— The history of trigonometry extends from the beginning of the development of mathematics in Greece to the enlightenment in Europe. While it has evolved from the original chord function to a plethora of functions and identities throughout the ages, many of the identities were already known in antiquity and utilized to measure distance and location in the skies. This paper provides a short review of the development of the sine and a short review of the development of the remaining trigonometric functions. The paper ends with an instructional suggestion to teach the fundamental and Pythagorean trigonometric identities using a diagram composed of the unit circle and similar triangles that will allow high school students to discover the…

The final answer must be expressed using only 3 significant figures this answer can be written 2550 cm3, but this can lead to some confusion as to whether it has 3 or 4 significant figures, therefore the final answer should be expressed as 2.55 x 103…

Pi The pertinence of the number pi has been indefatigable throughout the history of mathematics. Pi is a fairly simple concept to grasp, as it is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter of that circle. Pi is notorious to the masses for its aeonian nature; however, mathematicians classify this attribute as being both irrational and transcendental. Skeptics and misanthropes of Pi’s characteristics have claimed that it is a simple calculated number and there must be a pattern to its digits. Nevertheless, this was proven to be a false claim, as the digits of Pi have passed a multitude of statistical randomness assessments.…

Conclusion: I predicted that liquid A was glycerine due to a calculated density of 1.38 g/mL. However I was wrong the actual density of liquid A was 1.38 g/mL and the substance was actually corn syrup. Therefore the percent of error for the density of liquid is 1%. For liquid B I had predicted that its substance would be Glycerine due to the calculated density of 1.19 g/mL. I was incorrect for the density of liquid B which was actually 1.26 g/mL, but because the calculated and actual densities were very close I was able to get the right substance of Glycerine. The percent of error for the density of liquid B is 6%.…
