As the length of the pendulum decreases, the time elapsed to reach a full oscillation decreases. The relationship follows the functional relationship of a linear function, as "X" (length of pendulum) decreases, "Y" (Time elapsed for oscillation) decreases. Report Question: Bio-metrology According to Table 5, there was no correlation between the circumference of a person's head and their heart rate. One reason for this outcome is because the circulatory system is not dependent on size of a person's head. However, there was a correlation between the wrist and neck circumference. There was a positive correlation between wrist and neck circumference. The pattern between the neck and wrist circumference conveyed that the larger the wrist, the larger the neck. CONCLUSION: Section 10 concluded the lab with the expected results for each exercise. With the tools given, uncertainty played a role in obtaining a range of values for each measurement, but did not significantly impact the relative values. For example, when estimating…

ABA measures behavior in obtaining the significance of whether it is necessary to determine an individual needs treatment. If so, what treatment is appropriate, as well as if the treatment is working for the target behavior. Also, measuring behaviors can be determined by three fundamental properties comprise of repeatability, temporal extent, and temporal locus. (Cooper, et al., 2014). In assessing the quality of measurement indicators of the attribute of data incorporate interobserver…

I organized all of the Indiana State K-6 Physical Science Standards to where I believed they belonged within the five units we go over in P199. For the Forces and Motion; Measurement unit I placed standards 2.1.4, 2.1.5, 2.1.6, 2.1.7, 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 6.1.4, 6.1.5, and 6.1.6. For Physical Properties I placed K.1.1, K.1.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 2.1.3, 6.1.1, and 6.1.2. Within the Physical Changes; Electricity and Magnetism unit I organized standards 2.1.1, 4.1.3, 4.1.4, 4.1.5, 5.1.4, and…

The calibration curve observed in this investigation was the relationship measured between the concentration of the cobalt solution, or CO(NO3)2, and the absorbance of the wavelength. As it was impossible to measure the true standard curve, the data points and subsequent graphs demonstrated the qualitative information collected and the trend of these values. The calibration curve closely resembled a straight line, with only minimal deviations in either direction. This indicated that the…

Obtaining a fundamental understanding of the underlying physics of granular systems is important both for academic interest and industrial applications. Experimental measurements in full three-dimensional (3D) large industry scale granular system are complicated and expensive. Computational techniques such as the Discrete Element Method (DEM) can potentially be applied as a tool to provide understanding granular machine systems dynamics, virtual equipment design and evaluation of machine…

Elekta Synergy S linear accelerator (LINAC) was used to produce the 6, 10, and 15MV photon beams for measurements. The accelerator is fitted with the new Agility multileaf collimators (MLC) thinner than the previously used MLC’s to improve a field definition (Kantz et al. 2015; Thompson et al. 2014). The quality assurance was carried out monthly to ensure the LINAC response does not vary from the commissioning data (CPQR 2013). The LINAC has been calibrated to 100 cGy/MU at Dmax for a 10×10…

The first part of the experiment was determining the resolution of the DAC in volts. Before a voltage was applied the noise was determined by measuring the DC offset, the reading of the DMM at an input of zero volts. This offset was removed from the recorded values in order to provide a more accurate reading of the resolution. These corrected values and their corresponding applied voltages can be found in Table 1 of the appendix. The lowest value recorded from the DMM was -9.968V and the…
