Was the Great Wall of China worth building? Hundreds of thousands of people were killed during construction. People had to pay extra money for taxes. People couldn’t harvest their crops because they were busy building the wall. The Great Wall of China wasn't worth building because hundreds of thousands of people were killed, people had to pay extra money, and people couldn't harvest their crops because they were building the wall.
Many lives were lost in the construction of the wall. The Qin Dynasty forced soldiers to leave their families. The Qin Dynasty lost tens of thousands of soldiers due to starvation and sickness. The Han Dynasty lost many soldiers due to fighting with the Xiongnu. The leaders didn't have the ability to keep everyone
