The author draws similarities between the “Animal Farm” and the Soviet Union under the Russian despotism in the era of Stalin. Therefore the “Animal Farm” is the tale of the Soviet Union and the corruption of a communist dictatorship. Mr. Pilkington symbolizes the western world, which is satirically illustrated in the end of the story, where Napoleon and Pilkington draw the same high card during a card game.
