I want to increase our membership with hard working individuals that are passionate about business and will succeed in competitions. The second is, I want to try to incorporate more charity into this club through chapter campaigns and fundraisers. Lastly, I want to create more mock scenarios and practice for people who are going to compete. As treasurer, I was responsible for going beyond the minimal fifty hours of community service—as well as verifying the time other members completed.…

When Mountain House High School was inaugurated, it lacked one of the most crucial elements of the high school experience: clubs. Eager to share my passion for business, I founded DECA to give members exposure to real world working environments, state conferences, and opportunities to present their knowledge. Success was easy to obtain as post-conference enthusiasm spread first amongst members and then the rest of the school. Because of the first year’s success, the next brought many new members who were all eager to attend the DECA state conference.…

Why do I, Nadia Thomas, wish to be your SGA president? Honestly, because I want to make a change and leave a heavy impact on South Atlanta. When I was growing up, I was overly excited to go with my siblings to the local high school because no matter what time of day the student body was always excited and filled with adrenaline when it came to school spirit and education. Literally there was no mourning or moping kid in sight and the teachers had the spirit too. So when I entered high school already being known as the most hype freshman anyone had ever seen, I knew I had to leave my mark.…

I created a broadcasting club called The Scorpion Scoop, which I feel has changed the attitude of Sedona Red Rock High School. The club effectively televises school announcements to the student body in a humorous manner, so the students pay attention to important information. I have tried to start this club in the past, but was continuously told it was too much of a challenge and would not work out. The rejection just made me more ambitious to establish this important club, as I would not take no for an answer. Few supported my idea to create this club, until one of my close friends decided to help.…

My week at the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Maryland Girls State program was an eye-opening occasion. I went to Girls State knowing little to nothing about the government in the state of Maryland. I had no interest in running for any type of government office. Girls State was originally just a place to get away from my parents for a week, but once I got there I realized it was so much more. The first day was not a full day because of registration but it felt like it because of all the sessions we were in and the elections for city government.…

A People’s Politician Very few Americans will proudly say that they have had the dream of serving the American people in our nation’s government. For me, unlike anyone else, politics is not just my goal, but my dream. I have always lived my life knowing that no matter what the circumstance, someone doesn’t have all that they are entitled to in life. With that in mind, it drives me everyday to one day become a Politician who will become an advocate for the American people, a voice for freedom, and a philanthropist for humanity. Becoming an advocate for the millions of Americans in the lower classes of society who have felt the pain of poverty, the reality of racism, and the concern over their constitutional rights being stripped away amendment by amendment, would come with no easy responsibility.…
