Human health is effected greatly by food allergies, Toxicity, a decline in nutrition value of foods, antibiotic resistance, and many more negative health effects. All of these factors are presented by GMOs and their harmful long term effects. GM soy, corn, and papaya in the United States food supply fail the World Health Organization screening protocol due to these products having GM proteins that contain know allergen properties (“Health Risks- Institute for Responsible Technology”). GM rat testing conducted that livers were smaller, and contained toxin filled cells. The test also conducted that rats became infertile and there were changes within their reproductive organs (“Health Risks-Institute for Responsible Technology”). These test results are just a few of many more problematic effects that GMOs are linked too. Nutrition value of foods have also declined. Studies have shown that modified soybeans have recently been producing lower levels of phytoestrogen than ever before. Most importantly antibiotic resistance has increased dramatically throughout the years as well (“GMO: Harmful Effects”).
