As a well educated man who is highly regarded in the eyes of the Lord, there is no other option than to be completely behind any idea that he has. This includes the 95 Theses, which are a list of issues that are present within the Roman Catholic Church, some of which revolve around indulgences. There is nothing stronger than a man with new ideas and a mind to make those ideas reality.
Luther is simply trying to make the Church something that is relatable for all people. He believes that people need to have faith in the Lord rather than only attempting to show him gratitude through their actions.
