At a time when I was still a young child, my mother took me out to dinner at a fast food restaurant. There was an impoverished man at the counter who was fumbling through what little change he had left. However, it was at this point that my mother decided to step in and pay for the man’s meal. He was extremely grateful and offered my mother all of the change he had left in which she respectfully declined. He makes people think that everything he is doing to Truman and his life was totally expectable since this is for the entertainment business. He implies that Truman has not been greatly impacted by this and that he was not really considered a human. However, when people were watching the “The Truman Show” in the bar, they are overjoyed with excitement and did not think once of how crazy and disturbing this whole production and development is. They did not notice this because they all have fallen into a mindset that this is just like every other reality TV show, even though the main actor was not aware he is part of this show. Furthermore, this is scary because Truman never has the knowledge of when people are watching him or if the things that are happening to him are because of life or due to the production and director making his life decisions for him.…

Overview of my Worldview I do not believe my worldview has changed very much from the beginning of the semester except maybe for the fact that I would say that a basic knowledge of philosophy is necessary to every Christian who wants to be an effective witness in today’s postmodern society. At any rate I am going to go through each of the main beliefs that make up a worldview namely my philosophy of theology, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, anthropology, and evil. There are many facets to each of these six beliefs; however I will only deal with each one in relation to the questions that were discussed in class and in Life’s Ultimate Questions by Ronald Nash. A homeless man resembling his late father (Brian Delate), who supposedly drowned in a boating accident when Truman was a child, tries to make contact but is forcibly removed from the 'set'. Truman's car radio picks up the communications traffic between the 'backstage' people. Despite the attempts of his friends and family to convince him that he is just imagining things, Truman decides that he wants to follow his secret yearning for traveling to Fiji. However, he finds his efforts to leave Seahaven blocked at every turn by mysterious mechanical difficulties, natural disasters, and sudden traffic jams, all placed in his way by the mysterious God-like producer of the show, a man appropriately named Christof (Ed Harris of "Apollo 13").If you can suspend the disbelief of millions of viewers being able to sustain interest in a television show that covers every single moment of Truman's life (no matter how boring it gets), and the ability of Christof to keep him in the dark for so long, then you will find yourself enchanted by this wondrous Capra-esque fantasy.…
