Describe the route that visual information travels in the eye. |
Light enters the eye through the pupil.
The pupil is focused by the lens (adjustable) and cornea (not adjustable) and projected onto the retina, the near surface of the eye, which is lined with visual receptors. The receptors send their messages to bipolar cells, neurons located closer to the center of the eye. The ganglion cell axons band together to from the optic nerve--an axon bundle that exits through the back of the eye. |
