2, Squeeze operating Handles together to Discharge.


3, After use, return to original stowage and secure.

OPERATION;


SCOTT;


1, Remove unit from case.


2, Tear Red Pull Strip & Remove from bag.


3, Pull out Actuator Ring ( Don't use unless Gas Flow).


4, Bend fed, grasp hole in neck seal with Thumbs, insert Chin into hole & Pull hood across face and over head.


5, Pull hood down until headband firmly engages forehead.


6, Ensure clothing/Jewellery/hair is clear of neck seal.


7, When gas flow noise stops, immediately move to non hazardous area & Remove hood.



REMOVAL;


1, Move to safe area clear of Fire & toxic fumes.


2, Insert both hands under neck seal.


3, Ease hood up over the head & clear the face.


4, Brush Hair.


5, Stow in a safe, dry place away from heat, fire, water, allow time to cool. Use Valet cupboard or overhead locker.



ESSEX;


1, Grasp red strap attached to lid & Pull sharply to break Taper Evidence Seal.


2, Grasp yellow nylon strap & pull the PBE from bracket to remove unit.


3, Open foil seal pouch, tear in the direction of arrows using the red tear Strip.


4, Position front of hood correctly. (Should only seal foil area).


5, Unfold Hood to reveal O2 cylinders.


6, Grasp both cylinders with left hand, Grasp Ball/Chord with right hand.


7, Pull Ball/Chord sharply, O2 flow within 2 mins, actuated green light.


8, Place both hands in neck seal, palms facing each other, stretch neck seal open.


9, Guide hood over back of head & down over the face.


10, Ensure clothing/jewellery/hair is clear of neck seal.


11, Adjust glasses through hood.



REMOVAL;


1, Move to safe area.


2, Insert both hands under neck seal.


3, ease hood over the head & clear of face.


4, Brush hair.


5, Store in dry, safe place away from Heat/Fire/Water.

5, Restraint can only be removed once A/C is on the ground and security personnel have arrived on board.


6, CM will detail one of the restraint team to sit next to Pax on LDG to perform Buddy system in case of EVACUATION.



PLB (Portable Locator Beacon)

- Correct number/Location.

- 24hrs @ -20c, longer in warmer ambient temps.

3, Slowly bring mirror up to eye level & look through the sight hole until a bright light spot becomes visible.


4, Hold mirror close to eye slowly turn it until bright light is directed to the target.


5, Continually sweep horizon.



RANGE;


- 32km.

1, Place Lanyard over head.


2, Reflect sunlight from mirror onto near by surface.


3, Slowly bring mirror up to eye level & look through the sight hole until a bright light spot becomes visible.


4, Hold mirror close to eye slowly turn it until bright light is directed to the target.


5, Continually sweep horizon.

#Must be attached to bracket on the wing during ditching.


1, Place finger in the slot provided in the panel, slide catch up & pull the panel free.


2, Undo dog clip.


3, Instruct ABP to attach the dog clip onto tie down point on the wing.


4, Instruct Pax to use life line to assist the evacuation.

FLTDK ESCAPE ROPE

Precaution;


1, Ensure Rope is attached securely to A/C before use.



Operation;


1, Open compartment door.


2, Pull firmly on Rope.


3, Throw Rope out of FLTDK window.


4, Grasp evacuation handle with hand closest to window.


5, Thrust shoulder closest to window & head out.


6, Place both feet on seat & sit on window rail.


7, Grasp Rope.


8, Place both feet on the window rail & lower yourself to the ground.

FLTDK ESCAPE ROPE

Precaution;


1, Ensure Rope is attached securely to A/C before use.



Operation;


1, Open compartment door.


2, Pull firmly on Rope.


3, Throw Rope out of FLTDK window.


4, Grasp evacuation handle with hand closest to window.


5, Thrust shoulder closest to window & head out.


6, Place both feet on seat & sit on window rail.


7, Grasp Rope.


8, Place both feet on the window rail & lower yourself to the ground.

ESCAPE SLIDES

Manual Inflation;


1, Hold onto Evacuation Handle or rigid structure with one hand.


2, Reach & Pull the Manual Inflation Handle with other hand.



Non Inflated/Deflated Slide Procedures;


1, Release Tab/Clip in centre of Slide, allow it to free fall (if not already released).


2, Direct 2 ABP to CLB down the escape slide.


3, Direct first ABP to release the Securing Tabs on the way down.


4, Direct both ABP to stretch out the slide & 45 deg angle, using hand held a provided @ the bottom.


5, Direct another ABP to slide down & position themselves @ the bottom of the slide to assist evacuation of Pax.



# Do not persist with deflated slide unless it's the only means of evacuation.



Detach Slide Procedure;


1, Lift the flap @ the top of Slide.


2, Pul detachment handle.


3, Ensure the attachment line breaks.
