Explain the start of the Russian revolution

Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, persuaded Tsar Nicholas II to abdicate and hand over power. In 1918, the Tsar and his family were assassinated.

Explain what happened once “communism came to power”

After Lenin died, Stalin took over as leader. Under his leadership, ordinary Russians were treated cruelly and Stalin became a ruthless tyrant. Animal Farm is an allegory for the Russian Revolution. George Orwell wrote it as a reflection on the corruption of power. Originally, it was subtitled ‘A Fairy Tale’.
