Children today are especially at risk for environmental hazards because of factors such as poverty, lack of access to the communities in which they live. Environmental toxins, such as lead, pesticides, mercury, air pollution, solvents, asbestos, and radon, get into homes, schools, childcare centers & playgrounds.
