interphase
growth phase. preparation for mitosis. divided to 3 phases: growth phase 1, synthetic phase 1, growth phase 2
growth phase 1
performs ordinary cell functions. creates organelles and proteins.
synthesis phase
creates an entire copy of the DNA of the cell
growth phase 2
finishes building organelles and structures needed for division
prophase
chromatin condense making 2 identical chromatids. the mitotic spindle forms and attach to the centrioles, enabling movement. centrioles move towards the poles of the cell
metaphase
the mitotic spindle is attached from pole to pole. the chromatics line up at the equator.
Anaphase
chromatids separate forming complete chromosomes, which pull away from each other.
telophase and cytokenises
the cell divides into 2 portions. this Is called cytokenisis. the cell membrane pinches inward which is called a cleavage furrow.
arteries
carry blood away from the heart. rich in oxygen, poor in CO2 with the exception of the pulmonary artery. it leaves the blood and goes to the lungs.
Capillaries
carry blood from the arterioles to venules. thin walls allow gas exchange.
veins
carry blood to the heart. contains rich CO2, and poor oxygen. with the exception of pulmonary veins.
