What is physical security?

A static feature which forms the fabric of the establishment. Eg handcuffs or cell walls/doors

What is procedural security?

A specific procedure put in place to support the physical security measures around the establishment. Eg roll checks

What is dynamic security?

It means being aware of what is going on around you to reduce the risk of escape and create a safe and secure environment for staff, prisoners and visitors.

A prisoner shall be searched in as seemly a manner as is consistent with discovering anything concealed


No prisoner shall be stripped and searched in the sight of another prisoner or in the sight of a person of the opposite sex
