Newton's First Law
A force is necessary to change the state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line of a body.
Newton's Second Law
The rate of change of the momentum of an object is directly proportional to the resultant net force acting upon it.
Linear Momentum
this is defined by the mass of an object multiplied by its velocity. It is a vector.
Impulse
Impulse is defined by the expression F*change in time. It is equal to the change in momentum. It also equals the area beneath a force-time graph.
Note: The force of an impact can be reduced by increasing the time of the impact. |
