Abstract: Curcuminoids including Curcumin ([1,7, bis-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1,6-heptadiene-3,5-dione]) are being found in rhizome from the common spice, turmeric; or known as Curcuma longa L. Curcuminoids are phenolic compounds which carry the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Researchers have demonstrated these properties can develop medical and pharmacological treatments for diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and cancer.
