By definition an Eagle Scout is a boy scout who has reached the highest level of attainment in the various tests of skill and endurance set by the boy scout organization. I want to get my Eagle Scout because it not only teaches boy scouts how to survive and do basic things such as cooking, making fires, first aid, etc. It also gives you an advantage in applying for jobs. When applying for a job you could have the same application as someone else but if they see that you have your Eagle Scout then that job will go to you because you’re more qualified. I want to get my Eagle Scout because if i have the same application as someone else or I want to get a job in the government than that will help me with some of the credentials i need to get the job. In the end I plan on getting my Eagle Scout because it can help me with future job applications or real life problems.…

This past summer I set out to finish a goal I set many years beforehand. I began scouts in 1st grade, and since the beginning I set my goal to achieve the highest rank in scouting, the eagle scout award. This rank is the most difficult to achieve, but also the most respected in the scouting program. Becoming an eagle scout is a true symbol of a boy finally growing into a man. Before a scout can even start on this great task, they must obtain all of the other ranks before it. During this…
As an Eagle Scout, I spent 10 years of my childhood life trying to get to the rank that I am. I joined the Boy Scout of America program in 2nd grade as a Wolf Scout. Throughout my year, I worked hard to become an Eagle Scout. Earning the Eagle Scout Rank is an impressive award that stays with you throughout your entire life. You learn a lot of things within the program; from the Scout Law to the Scout Oath, which teaches you how to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, kind, obedient, brave…
Joining the Cub Scouts program in first grade put me on track to join the Boy Scouts of America, which at age eleven, I transitioned into, thus beginning my journey towards achieving the coveted pinnacle of the scouting program: Eagle Scout. Obtaining the Eagle rank is a long and difficult process, building within the scout strong traits of leadership, teamwork, and individual growth mindset, because progression is up to the scout. If it’s something they really want, then they will go after it…
It took 5 months from concept to completion of my project to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. As I reflect on that experience, I recognize the life lessons that it taught me. I began by speaking with other Eagle scouts for their views on projects that would be impactful to the community. I decided to help the local animal shelter. Prior to writing my proposal, I met with the shelter 3 times to fully understand what they wanted from me. I then sought the inputs of my troop Chairman. With these…
One accomplishment that sparked a period of growth and new understanding of myself was when I became a star scout in Boy Scouts. Before this time, I was not very motivated to becoming an Eagle Scout because only one percent of scouts become the pristijuce rank of Eagle Scout. Then one of my leaders came up to me and asked if I was planning on putting in the work it took to be an Eagle. I told him I did not know because I knew all the hard work and how I would have to persevere. In response, he…

After becoming an Eagle Scout, I wanted to give back to the Scouting community. One outlet I discovered was to staff National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), a program designed to teach leadership to younger scouts. In this program, beginner staffers (TGs) are responsible for guiding small groups through the course. After serving on staff for two years, I was promoted to senior staff and had the opportunity to oversee the TGs and lead the whole camp. Last summer, when I again served on senior…
