    Another strength that Peoria Illinois demonstrates is that it has more than 9,000 acres of parks (Menching). Sadly, with strengths also comes weaknesses and Peoria is known for their intense crime rate. In Peoria, you always hear about homicides and different shootings quite frequently, which doesn’t make a lot of individuals to thrilled about living in this town. Within Illinois, more than 97% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Peoria. Importantly, when you compare Peoria to other communities of similar population, then Peoria crime rate is quite a bit higher than average.
