    stands in keeping its position as the global supremacy. As a group, we spoke about how we saw power today playing out as more of a hard power, rather than soft. With countries growing and building, it is not as easy to use persuasion or compromise to resolve issues. Even Joseph S. Nye, Jr., in his article The Future of American Power: Dominance and Decline of Perspective, states that “power is the ability to attain the outcomes one wants, and the resources that produce it vary in different contexts” (Nye). In Nye’s article, he goes on to give a comparison of power today. He states that power distribution mimics the concept of a three dimensional chessboard. He explains that the top tier represents the military, which our group tied into the idea of today’s global supremacy being approached through hard power. In the middle tier lies economic power, and on the bottom tier, we have “the realm of transnational relations”, basically meaning non state groups such as terrorist organizations and hackers...In other words, China’s impressive economic growth rate and increasing population will likely lead the Chinese economy to pass the U.S. economy in total size in a few decades, but that is not the same as equality” (Nye). After our group explored the definition of power, we moved on to the idea of China becoming the next hegemony.
