study proves further that Duke’s study was flawed. The University College of London took 2,612 individuals to study; compared to a weak number of 38 individuals done by Duke (Ingraham). Also the new study took a total of seven years to complete. In the end, they concluded there was no relationship between cannabis use and lower IQ. To follow that fact Ingram informs the audience of another fact of how all common drugs were noted to see the effect. In the end, the statistic was calculated that only 3% was dropped from IQ over seven years and that is a very unnoticeable number London concluded (Ingraham). The article then goes into a quote from author Claire Mokrsz, “this is a potentially important public health message- the belief that cannabis is particularly harmful may detract focus from and awareness of other potentially harmful behaviors” (Ingraham). This is a well-placed quote by Ingram; he does this to open the eyes of the public. They may also agree with Mokrsz’s quote and would like to see the positive effects of marijuana studied now. I think Ingram does a spectacular job informing the public of all of the statistics received from the test. He really does an impressive job comparing the two studies together so you can compare and contrast. His goal to do this is to inform you how unprofessional and flawed…
