Much of these findings are due to an extreme lack of supervision, oversight, inadequate documentation and/or follow ups. Outline I. Introduction A. Why isn 't policy and procedure enforced in our state agency? To protect the most vulnerable of our society from violent and sexual attacks from those who have sworn to protect them.…

After informing Janey she was going to be placed under arrest for Domestic Assault I allowed her to make a quick phone call. At this time Deputy Garrett and I asked her to put her hands behind her back, but she refused and kept walking away from us still talking on the phone. Deputy Garrett and I had to restrain Janey against a vehicle to get the handcuffs on. the handcuffs were double locked and checked for tightness.…
As a survivor of intimate partner violence, I prefer the use of the term survivor over victim. The term victim carries a very negative connotation that I feel draws sympathy rather than support. A survivor has overcome a difficult situation and has walked away with strength. Intimate partner violence is used to cover all forms of violence that is inflicted on a person in an intimate or personal relationship to gain control over another (Crawford, Project Radar, 2018). In this paper, I will describe what I found to be the most interesting findings of Virginia’s Project Radar, describe and discuss the available local resources for intimate partner violence, and the significance of elder abuse in my facility.…

Intimate Partner Violence: Building Healthy Teen Relationships According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2016), intimate partner violence (IPV) is experienced by approximately 15-40% of adolescents in the US, with the abuse being found to occur in children as young as 12 years of age (De Grace & Clark, 2012). Victimization and perpetration of abuse is prevalent in both genders, with approximately 32% of adolescents reporting victimization and 24% reporting perpetration (Johnson et al., 2015). These numbers are staggering, and IPV has been shown to have lifelong and sometimes dire consequences. It is imperative for healthcare providers to be aware, not only of IPV, but of the risk factors and health implications associated…
Domestic Violence (Why is Domestic Violence tolerated by females within the Hispanic/Latino/ and Chicano household?) 28 year old, Francisco, grew up in an unexpected life of violence. As he grew up and matured with the help of a single mother, two brothers and a sister, he soon began to understand everything had to be done by his own hands. No attention from either of his family members caused depression and interest in danger and pain. Roaming around the streets of Los Angeles and later moving to Pomona he met quite a large amount of people.…
L (2013), Why abused women stay in bad relationships; Retrieved August 16, 2014, from http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/10/opinion/steiner-domestic-violence This source documents research on females whom stayed in an abusive relationship fearing of retaliation or in a hope of changing the abusing partner. The research shows the complications to the situations, particularly how a woman who’s being abused still tries to maintain a positive image to the world about their relationship. Some of the women who attempted leaving the relationship ended up with no societal support, or worse yet, died. This article gains credibility from its’ author Leslie Steiner.…
How can society fight this issue? What does the individual do to help stop this from happening and stop it all together? Too many times a person will not do anything because they think they cannot. Lansing (2013) talks about how people who witness an act will often walk away thinking that poor kid, or I better not interfere.…
