The question as to if ethics in business has improved since those days is a very simple one to answer; yes. The reason I believe that ethics has improved comes from Daniel Terris when he says “Making their way in a highly competitive (and unregulated) era, these early corporate leaders used a variety of unscrupulous means to build their fortunes” (Terris, 2005, p. 25) when referring to big business tycoons in the nineteenth century. There was a time when these businessmen could earn profit by any means even if they were unethical.
