Cultural competency brings about the core of high quality in patient-centered care as it directly impacts the delivery of health care services. Additionally, delivering culturally competent health care improves patients’ satisfaction, quality of care, contributes to staff retention, and increases job satisfaction. On the other hand, lack of cultural competency in health care contributes to reduced patient compliance, increased health disparities, and poor patients outcomes regardless of the systems available and quality of service (Butler et.al, 2016).
