As social workers play an important role in society in order to meet the needs of those with problems, it is the social worker that intervenes in order to better their everyday lives. When a social worker is placed to better the lives of others knowing the ways of living, culture, and their communities becomes a viral part in addressing the problems in order to get solutions. As social workers reach out to the people and explore their customs of living can help acclimate to the population and understanding the problems that are faced. Within the city of East Hollywood according to the U.S Census (2000) there is a population of 73,967where 60.4% are Latino, 17.5% White, 15.5% Asian, 2.4% Black, and 4.1% other. Within the East Hollywood population there is a median household income of $29,927 and 3,281 families headed by single parents. Also in the East Hollywood population the median age is 31 where in the country the highest population range of age ranges from 19 to 34 (Mapping L.A., 2016). Central Hollywood on the other hand neighboring East Hollywood to the west of Western Boulevard, according to the U.S Census (2000) has a population of 77,818 (Mapping L.A., 2016). In contrast to the neighboring city of East Hollywood the median household income of Central Hollywood is higher at $33,694 and a lower rate of single headed families at 2,640.
