if there is associated soft tissue swelling in a young adolescent, it is OSGOOD SCHLATTER. There must be associated soft tissue swelling.
The condition is osteochondrosis of the tibial tuberosity ossification centers. Complications are nonunion of the fragments, patellar subluxation, chondromalacia patella, and avulsion of the patellar tendon |

Findings occur because of chronic irritation by blood products which cause synovial hypertrophy which causes articular cartilage erosion and subchondral sclerosis.
ON MRI THERE IS HEMOSIDERIN DEPOSITION, SO THAT THE DDX IS ALWAYS BETWEEN PVNS AND HEMOPHILIA!!! |
