What is a firewall? |
An integrated collection of security measures that are designed to prevent unauthorised access to a network computer system. |

How does a network security system act as a firewall? |
It monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic. Establishes a barrier between a trusted internal network and untrusted external network. |
