The purpose of this report is to discuss how I designed and implemented an 8 week training programme to help improve my ability to play and participate in turbo touch. During the 8 weeks, I participated in 3 different methods of training which consisted of interval, continuous and circuit; all of which relate and help improve my playing abilities in turbo touch. Throughout this report I will be discussing the different types of biophysical principles that relate to all of my methods of training such as principles of training (frequency, intensity, duration, specificity, adaptation, and overload), fitness physiology, fitness components and muscular system. I will be concluding with the strengths and weaknesses that I discovered during …show more content…
The reason why frequency is so important is because without regular trainings you wouldn’t see any improvement. With regular frequency such as 3 times per week, you will be able to see changes in your heart rate (which means you are working harder and are able to work harder due to fitness) and loss of body fat would be visible after a few weeks of training. During my interval training I needed to target my intensity at 85-95% so that I was targeting the correct energy system (ATP-PC system). The duration for this method of training needed to be around 20 seconds because realistically you can’t use the ATP-PC system for much longer and you would soon be targeting your aerobic energy system instead of ATP-PC. Specificity is needed for interval training because it is important to only target the correct energy system to see improvement in that area (interval). The adaptations from interval training is that you will visibly become faster, have more power in your take-offs and side-steps, and you will potentially see loss of body fat and your fitness level increase (less fatigue during games). Using overload in interval training meant increasing the frequency and intensity by 10%, this challenges yourself and it can help improve fitness and speed as your body gets used to it.
