In biosythesis of an RNA virus, what are the 2 states of the RNA?

Sense (+) strand is ready to be translated into protein immediately.

Antisense (-) strand must be transcribed to produce the sense (+) strand. Has extra step of making the + strand then it can make proteins.

Describe biosythesis for the RNA + strand versus the RNA - strand

For the + strand, you cant use + to make +, must use - to make more +'s.

For the - strand, - has to make + template then can make more -'s

Describe assembly of a DNA virus

After replication of the viral DNA in the nucleus, and the biosythesis of the capsid proteins in the cytoplasm... capsid proteins migrate to the nucleus, capsid proteins assemble with the viral DNA to form virions in nucleus, and the virion particles are transported to the host cells membrane for release.
