Difference between physical education and sport

Physical education is about the development of the individual, whereas sport is about the development of excellence.

The main activities were wrestling, running, jumping, discus and javelin.

Sports included chariot racing, animal hunts, wrestling, running, and boxing.

Types of Bone

Long Bones


They have a diaphysis, epiphyses and a hollow centre.


Examples: Bones of the upper and lower arms and legs, the collar bone, metatarsals, metacarpals and phalanges



Short Bones


Examples: Carpals of the wrist and the tarsal of the feet.



Flat Bones


Examples: Scapula, pelvis, and cranium. NB// The scapula and pelvis need a large are for all the muscles that attach to them. The cranium need a large area to protect the brain.



Irregular Bones


These are spongy bone inside and compact hone outside. Example: The Vertebrae.
