What is matter? |
It has volume and mass. It is the "stuff" things are made of. |
What is mass? |
Amount of matter in an object. |
What is volume? |
Amount of space something occupies. |
What is weight? |
Measurement of the pull on gravity of something. |
How is mass different from weight? |
It is the measure of the amount of matter in an object, measured using a balance, constant, and is noted in SI units (kg, g, mg) |
How is weight different from mass? |
Weight is the measure of the gravitational force on an object, measured using a spring scale, measured in Newtons (force), and not constant |
Why is matter constant but weight is not? |
Matter is constant because your mass doesn't change wherever you are. Weight changes because different places have different forces of gravity. |
