dx: 1) Cold from Deficiency of the Stomach. The Cold causes the Stomach-Qi to stagnate, which forces the Stomach-Qi to rebel upward, causing vomiting. 2) Cold from Deficiency of the Stomach and Liver. As the Cold (Yin) rebels upward, it follows the course of the Liver channel which results in headache at the vertex. 3) Cold attacking the Middle Burner. In this pattern, not only does the Stomach-Qi lose its correct directional tendency, but the clear Yang (which is rooted in the Kidneys) cannot rise, which leads to diarrhea. |
